COMMUNITY FORESTRY AND STEWARDSHIP BUREAU
The purpose of the Community Forestry and Stewardship Bureau, within the Division of Forests and Lands, is to deliver accurate resource information, expand knowledge, and motivate the general public, professional resource managers, and other resource organizations and agencies to take action to maximize the contribution of New Hampshire's forests to the enhancement of their quality of life.

The Community Forestry and Stewardship Bureau is responsible for the administration of the Shieling Forest (Shieling Trust Fund) in Peterborough, the Urban Forestry Center (John Elwyn Stone Trust Fund) in Portsmouth, and the historic Taylor Up and Down Sawmill in Derry. This involves program development and implementation as well as property/facility development, operation, and maintenance.
The Community Forestry and Stewardship Bureau is responsible for the administration of New Hampshire’s Community Forestry Program.
The Community Forestry and Stewardship Bureau also represents the Director (State Forester), Division of Forests and Lands, in matters concerning community forestry, applied forest research, forest stewardship, forest survey, public relations, and other associated programs as they are directly related to the overall statewide mission of the Division of Forests and Lands.
